Do you need to see a gynaecologist? Aleris has many gynaecologists with extensive experience of diagnosing and treating gynaecological problems.
Our gynaecologists perform a routine internal ultrasound scan as part of every gynaecological examination. This is included in the price.
If you are experiencing symptoms or have problems your think may be related to your reproductive organs, it is important that you consult a gynaecologist. An examination will help determine whether or not you have a medical condition that requires treatment. During the gynaecological examination, it is also possible to ask for a cervical smear test or other relevant tissue tests.
Among the services our gynaecologists can offer are:
- Smear tests
- Contraceptive advice
- Treatment of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
- Early foetal ultrasound scan
- etc.
What should I know about an internal ultrasound scan?
An internal ultrasound scan is not dangerous. Sound waves are used to produce the image, no radiation is involved. The procedure does not normally cause any pain. In early pregnancy (up to around the 12th week of pregnancy), we perform an ultrasound scan via the vagina in order to see the foetus. This does not carry any increased risk of miscarriage.
Smear tests performed by the gynaecologist
It is recommended that women have smear tests done regularly to discover any changes in the cells of the uterus. Smear tests are important in the prevention and diagnosis of cancer.
Aleris offers gynaecological consultations at locations throughout Norway, in addition to gynaecological surgery in Oslo, Stavanger and Trondheim.
